'Tekken 7' news, PC release date: NJPW costumes coming to game; PC version inches closer
"Tekken 7" characters can now don New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), thanks to a newly forged partnership between the professional wrestling promotion and Bandai Namco Entertainment.
The first order of business is bringing the presence of Bullet Club to the game. "Tekken 7" fighters can now flaunt outfits and other items like bandanas plastered with the infamous bone soldier logo of the popular wrestling group.
For the uninitiated, the Bullet Club was once home to now mega-popular World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstars such as Karl Anderson, AJ Styles and Finn Balor.
Chaos, another one of NJPW's popular wrestling stable with NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura as the first leader, also inspired a set of new clothing for "Tekken 7" characters.
Additionally, NJPW and Bandai Namco's team-up also allowed King, who is, of course, a professional wrestler who dons a trademark jaguar mask, to get a new special move inspired by reigning NJPW champion Kazuchika Okada.
The "Tekken 7" fighter will be able to use Okada's finishing move, Rainmaker, as his standard Rage Art, which should give fans a good NJPW feel when finishing off the opponent.
For the complete experience, King will also get to do this epic move wearing the champ's ring gear, which should feel like the NJPW superstar has graced "Tekken 7."
Fans will be able to get their hands on all of these later this year. At the moment, these costumes are only set for release in Japan, but with the popularity of NJPW and the featured professional wrestling stables in the West, it would be more surprising if they will not become available there.
As fans wait for this new batch of content, another test of patience is happening for the PC version of "Tekken 7," which is coming this year as well.
Not much is known about this version. In fact, the specifications needed to run the game on PC are still undisclosed while cross-platform play is still up in the air.
