'Tekken 7' release date news 2017: Bandai Namco announces June 2 launch; explains cause of delay

Finally, "Tekken 7" has a release date. The announcement came following the brutal video trailer of the game, which further increased the hype for the title.

Bandai Namco announced that "Tekken 7" will come out to consoles on June 2, GameSpot reported. This date is a little bit late from the "early 2017" promise, but it is not too far off either.

Project head Katsuhiro Harada stated that his team has put their best effort forward to ensure that the game will be available in early 2017, but certain challenges deemed it impossible. He explained that the new title launches have been one of the reasons why they decided to change the release date, since some were released with a light content so as to meet the promised launch. Furthermore, Hakada said that they considered the strong demands of the fans.

Therefore, instead of rushing to release "Tekken 7" from the promised time frame, the team decided to take more of their time to ensure that the bundle is complete before it begins shipping. The game boss also apologized to the fans who have practiced their patience for a long time.

The announcement came after the game's recent trailer. "Tekken 7" was released in Japan in July 2016 so gamers have a pretty substantial idea about the game. This includes the already confirmed character, Miguel Caballero Rojo making a grand return. Other characters include Bob, Master Raven, Lee Cholan and Nina Williams.

Details of "Tekken 7" season pass and preorder bonuses are already available. The season pass carries three pack, with each having "new playable characters, new stages, a new game mode, costume packs, and a bonus 35-piece Metallic Costume Pack."

The price of the pack and the individual title has not been announced yet, but a deluxe edition has already been listed on Steam. It is reported as $25 more than the standard pack.
