'Tekken 7' release date news: game to be playable on Nintendo Switch?
Gamers would not want to expect "Tekken 7" to be playable in the Nintendo Switch anytime soon as Bandai Namco Entertainment is sticking to the current-generation consoles for now.
When asked during an interview with GameSpot about a Nintendo Switch launch for the fighting game, "Tekken 7" producer Katsuhiro Harada played coy on the matter.
"We're quite surprised by the Nintendo Switch announcement; read into that what you like," he said, leaving the judgment to readers.
Nintendo Life says that Harada may have meant that they were "surprised" at what the Nintendo console has to offer other than being in the dark about its launch.
Based on what has been shown by Nintendo about the Switch, the console might be able to handle "Tekken 7" and the idea of being able to play it on handheld, making it a perfect game for the hybrid.
Nintendo Life believes that Bandai Namco's professional history with Nintendo with "Mario Kart 8" and "Super Smash Bros" could lead them to work together for "Tekken 7" again.
With regards to the possibility of the fighting game coming to the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox Scorpio, Harada also kept his cards close to his chest.
"Those platforms are relatively new as far as what we know about them and what's been released publicly about them. It's hard to comment on that right now," he stated.
"Tekken 7," however, will be brought to the personal computer (PC). During the interview, Harada said that having worked with the Sony console for years, "the hurdle to porting to PC afterward was quite high at that time."
"Since we're developing the game on PC from the start using Unreal Engine, it made it much easier to release a PC version. There are also many markets in which many gamers prefer PC rather than console," he added.
