'Tekken 7' release date, news, rumors: PS4 release expected in February 2017
Bandai Namco has not yet revealed the exact release date of their upcoming fighting video game "Tekken 7." The latest installment in the highly successful "Tekken" game franchise was first released in Japan last year as an arcade game. In the coming months, it is expected that the game will finally be released worldwide in different home consoles, such as PlayStation 4. Just recently, it was reported that the PS4 version of "Tekken 7" will be released early next year.
According to a report from WCCF Tech, the rumors are rife that "Tekken 7" will be released in PS4 by February 2017. The rumor started when a person under the username Wonkey posted the possible release date for "Tekken 7" on Twitter. He tweeted that the game will be released in February next year. There is a possibility, however, that the game will also be released on Xbox One and PC platforms shortly or at the same time with the PS4.
Still, this information must be taken with a grain of salt as Bandai Namco has yet to release the official details regarding the "Tekken 7" launching in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Game Reactor has the chance to talk with "Tekken 7" producer Katsuhiro Harada and game designer and translator Michael Murray at the recently concluded Gamescom 2016, where the two revealed their expectations when they added the new characters such as Lee Chaolan, Master Raven and Bob.
"There are actually two major reasons for including Lee this time around," said Harada. "One is his role in the storyline is quite major, because of his relation to the Mishimas, so there's that. But then also just as a character to play he's quite popular among the fanbase so we (Harada and myself) often get from Twitter he was one of the more frequent requests."
Bandai Namco revealed the new character Lee Chaolan, also known as Violet, in the latest "Tekken 7" trailers shown at Gamescom, as well as the photos of a young Kazuya and Heihachi in a particular story mode in the game.
Yibada reported that the roster for "Tekken 7" includes Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Asuka, Lili, Xiaoyu, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, King, Yoshimitsu, Bryan Fury, Feng Wei, Dragunov, Leo, Lars, Alisa, Nina, Bob, Devil Jin. Aside from Lee Chaolan, Master Raven and Bob, the new fighters in the game are Claudio Serafino, Katarina Alves, Lucky Chloe, Josie Rizal, Jack-7, Gigas, Shaheen, Akuma and Kazumi Mishima.
