The rumors regarding the February 2017 release date of the "Tekken 7" PS4 version started to make rounds on the internet when a known game leaker on Twitter revealed a few details from his alleged reliable source. The Twitter user known as Wonkey tweeted that the release of "Tekken 7" will happen in February next year. There is a possibility that the upcoming installment will also be released on Xbox One and PC platforms simultaneously with the PS4.
Meanwhile, Bandai Namco recently revealed during the PAX 2016 event that a popular "Street Fighter" character, Akuma, is indeed joining the "Tekken 7" roster and will have his own story mode in the game. The new gameplay demo shows Akuma challenging Heihachi Mishima to an intense duel. Segment Next reported that Akuma wants to defeat Heihachi in order to fulfull the promise he made to his wife Kazumi before her death. Interestingly, during Akuma's battles, the players can use his signature moves from the "Street Fighter" games such as ohadouken, Goshoryuken and Tatsumaki Senppukyaku. Akuma can also use his critical arts in the game like the Messatsu Gou Hadou and Shun Goku Satsu, also known as the Raging Demon.
To note, Akuma is the first character from Capcom's "Street Fighter" franchise that made a crossover to the "Tekken" world. This is the beginning of the planned crossovers for "Tekken 7" as stated by game producer Katsuhiro Harada and game designer Michael Murray in earlier interviews.
