'Tekken 7' release date to be announced next week, Bandai Namco confirms
It was in 2014 when Bandai Namco announced that "Tekken 7" will soon hit the home consoles. Fans have waited several years for the news that it will finally come out, and the game publisher did not disappoint by promising to announce the release date in the next few days.
Bandai Namco went to Twitter to announce the good news. They wrote, "To all Tekken fans and beyond: look forward to the release date announcement of 'Tekken 7' next week. Stay tuned!"
No further details were revealed following the announcement, but this should be understandable as the game will already be released next week. However, the game publisher did not disclose the specific date of the launch. One fan asked what date, but Bandai Namco only replied with, "either Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday."
Until "Tekken 7" is released, rumors about the title will continue to float around. It is expected that several returning characters will be seen in the game like Nina Williams, who has become one of the staples, according to GameRant. New characters are also believed to be featured like Shaheen or Akuma from the popular "Street Fighter" franchise.
The coming of Akuma to "Tekken 7" is reportedly good timing since "Street Fighter 5" apparently left its players disappointed, resulting in low sales. The "Tekken" franchise may possibly make a grand comeback and offer its signature gameplay that players have been addicted to for years.
As for the content, players say that the most recent trailer reveals the Story Mode with an interesting gameplay to be offered. The most-talked-about feature, however, is the single-player mode. The mode is reportedly a combination of quick-time events (QTEs) and cut-scenes, aside from the regular gameplay. This will result in better cinematic outcome. This has already been seen in the recent trailer as well.
"Tekken 7" will be out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PC.
