Tesla Model S for Kids news, specs, price & updates: Mini Tesla for kids can run up to 6mph; has functional headlights and a car speaker system
American auto company, Tesla, teamed up with toy maker Radio Flyer to come up with a miniature-sized version of the Tesla Model S that could just be the ideal Christmas gift for children this 2016.
The new Tesla Model S for kids carries all the features that the original-sized one possesses, only that it is exclusive for children's use.
The model runs on lithium-charged batteries and an electric motor that is capable of a speed of 6mph. A switch is present to control the car's top speed from 3mph to 6mph, depending on the young driver's skill and preference.
It is also reported that the mini model offers the longest runtime and the fastest charging time to make sure kids are able to maximize playtime with it.
The mini car also sports functional headlights, a working sound system and a trunk wherein snacks and more toys can be stored.
Its sound system is good to be plugged in on iPhones and other media devices in order to play music and other media files on the car's speakers.
Weighing 81 lbs., the Tesla Model S for kids can move forward and backward. The car also boasts a spacious interior and is available in colors that match the original-size Tesla models — black, white, red, and blue. Its license plate can also be further personalized to suit the child's preferences.
In addition, the new Tesla Model S for kids is priced at £499 or approximately $626. Many expect that this might be one of the most sought-after items in many children's wish list this Dec. 2016.
Meanwhile, the original Tesla Model S has just been reported to have raised its retail price to $2,000 starting Nov. 22, making the price as high as $68,000. The announcement was made through the car's monthly newsletter that is distributed among its members.
