'The 100' season 4 spoilers: Octavia turns aggressive as she and Clarke go through ordeal
Both Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Octavia (Maria Avgeropoulos) suffered through heartbreaking losses in the finale of "The 100" season 3, and if the spoilers for season 4 are giving off the right notes, then it looks like the upcoming season would see both of them dealing with the losses differently.
It was previously reported that Clarke would have a hard time moving on from Lexa's (Alycia Debnam-Carey) surprise death while engaged in battle, and while the possibility of her getting together with Bellamy (Bob Morley) could be explored, it probably will not happen in one fell swoop.
On the other hand, Octavia would still be reeling from the death of Lincoln (Ricky Whittle), causing her to tap into her darker side to deal with the loss.
In an interview with TV Guide, Taylor said that while she hopes her character would find love again, she personally doesn't want her character to move on that quickly. It would be remembered that Clarke and Lexa have just gone up to the next level of their relationship before Lexa died. According to Taylor, Lexa was Clarke's true love and a relationship after that would only be on the rebound, caused by grief.
"For me, personally, I think it was so amazing for my character to really truly love someone," Taylor told TV Guide. "And she has just passed away at this point, and I think it's going to take a long time to grieve and to move forward. And I want to allow her that time."
Meanwhile, Avgeropoulos has confirmed that Octavia would be on a downward spiral after Lincoln's death. She dished that her character will be taking the "darker turn into the depths of her despair," adding that in the upcoming season, Octavia will be like a "double-edged sword."
The writers of the show seemed to confirm Octavia's struggle when they posted this on "The 100's" Instagram account:
Based on the post, fans are speculating that although Octavia is generally tough, her grief and her intense rage over the events of last season would be too much for her to handle. Hence, while she could keep herself in check, her rage could get the better of her and make her go out of control.
"The 100" season 4 will air on The CW in early 2017. In the meantime, keep coming back for more updates about the upcoming season.
