There are speculations that season 10 will be the last season where Jim Parsons will play the role of Sheldon Cooper in "The Big Bang Theory" series. However, a spin-off from the title is already reportedly underway which will focus on Parsons' character.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 is currently on winter break, and it returns with episode 12 titled "The Holiday Summation" on Jan. 5 next year. It is anticipated to pick up after the events of the previous episode, where Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) gave birth to their baby girl, Halley.

With season 10 almost at an end, there are those who wonder whether or not the cast of the show will still be complete in any upcoming seasons.

According to University Herald, Parsons is most likely not to renew his contract for another season with the franchise to focus on a movie career. Parsons is set to appear in "Hidden Figures" that is slated to debut this December, and he would like to have more appearances in movies.

But in an interview with TV Line, "The Big Bang Theory" cast shared that there is a high chance that all of them will be back for season 11.

Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny in the series, said, "I think it's a given that we want to be here. That's the overall consensus. It might be a sticky road, but if I have anything to do with it, we'd be here for much longer. That's the goal."

In related news, a spin-off from "The Big Bang Theory" is already in the works featuring a young Sheldon.

The series is said to have the title "Sheldon," and spin-off showrunners Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, along with the original Sheldon himself, Parsons, have started looking for the person who will play the titular part.

The actor to play young Sheldon should be 8 to 11 years old, and he should be able to portray a "Socially awkward, once-in-a-generation genius" who is also "confident," "short-tempered," "fiercely ritualistic," and "arrogant."
