"The Big Bang Theory" has been picked up by CBS for the 11th season, and actors Jim Parson, Kaley Cuoco, and Johnny Galecki are still under negotiations to reprise the lead characters of the series. Meanwhile, showrunner Steve Molaro remains cautious about season 11's storyline.

The comedy hit series following the lives of Sheldon and his best friend Leonard with his wife Penny, has been confirmed for the 11th season, but it appears that the actors who play these pivotal characters have not yet been confirmed to reprise their roles in the new season.

CBS entertainment president Glenn Geller shared with Variety that negotiations are already underway. "We are guardedly optimistic that we will make a deal," Geller said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

Geller also expressed that their goal is to get all three actors to reprise their roles in "The Big Bang Theory" season 11, sidestepping the idea that the show might continue without Sheldon, Leonard, and Penny.

But it appears that negotiations will go well, as Parsons and Cuoco shared their eagerness to reprise their roles for another season of "The Big Bang Theory" with TV Line.

Parson praised the writers of the series of being "so devoted and on top" of creating new quirks for his characters.

"The stories that come out are still so much fun to play — there's no drudgery aspect to this," Parsons said.

Although the actors expressed their enthusiasm to return for season 11, showrunner Molaro is still being cautious in creating the continuing story for "The Big Bang Theory" characters.

"I'll keep pushing forward and, as we learn more, we'll adjust if necessary... If everything keeps going the way it's been going, absolutely [I'm up for more]," he said.

There is still no announcement when "The Big Bang Theory" season 11 will premiere.
