'The Blacklist' season 4 episode 4 spoilers: Tom risks his life going on hunt for baby Agnes? Mr. Kaplan and Red to face off?

"The Blacklist" season 4 is barely into its fourth episode, and there's no denying things have escalated quickly. From watching Red shoot Mr. Kaplan to Liz discovering new clues about her childhood, fans can expect things to get even more exciting and thrilling.

As of last Thursday's episode, "Miles McGrath," Liz's (Megan Boone) daughter, Agnes, is still missing and presumably still with her purported grandfather, Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen). In the process of searching for her daughter, Liz discovered her mother's (Lotte Verbeek) diary, which revealed that Katarina Rostova was once assigned to Red (James Spader).

Apparently, Katarina fell in love with Red, which affirms what Kirk told Liz earlier; that Red and her mother had an affair. Liz's discovery only underscored the possibility that Red might be her biological father and not Kirk, which will explain why Red is bent on protecting Liz.

In the same episode, Red likewise revealed why Kirk resorted to kidnapping Liz and her daughter.

"He needs a biological descendant to save his life ... That's what you are: a collection of cells. This isn't about saving you from me. This is about saving you for him," Red told Liz.

It turns out Kirk has a rare blood disease passed down from father to son and he needs the blood of Agnes or Liz in order to make the antidote for the disease.

Thursday's episode titled "Gaia" will have Tom (Ryan Eggold), Liz's husband, taking control of things in order to look for baby Agnes himself. Check out the promo trailer below:

"As Red sets Liz and the Task Force on the trail of an eco-terrorist with a mysterious connection to Alexander Kirk, Tom takes matter into his own hands," reads the synopsis shared by The Futon Critic.

The eco-terrorist in question might possibly lead Red, Liz, and the Task Force to where Kirk has stowed baby Agnes away, and the upcoming episode is bound to reveal just what this man's mysterious connection with Kirk is. Meanwhile, Tom will take matters into his own hands and set off on his own in search of Agnes, thereby putting his life in danger.

"The Blacklist" season 4 episode 4, "Gaia," airs Oct. 13, Thursday, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
