When Netflix rolled out "The Crown," it was almost a given that it would not be a single-serving series. Given that it traces decades back to how Queen Elizabeth was thrust into the spotlight after King George VI, the historical drama is expected to continue treading the events leading to modern-day monarchy. With that, viewers are wondering when will Princess Diana eventually be introduced in the show?

WIth its path already laid out, "The Crown" creator and writer Peter Morgan confidently teases about Lady Di making her series debut sometime toward the end of the third season, as tipped by People magazine. From then, she will be a fixture in the series in the succeeding two seasons presumably until the narrative comes to her death in 1997.

Despite having a tumultuous relationship with the British Royal family, which has been slowly divulged later on in her life, Diana is still arguably a pivotal character in the history of England's monarchy. Not only did she mother the second and fifth heirs to the throne in Prince William and Prince Harry, respectively, but also her significantly different approach in being part of the royalty molded how the palace now runs its public affairs. Evident in how her two boys push forward with her endeavors as well as their own, the princess introduced a boots-on-the-ground and more personal approach to her constituents.

In turn, it is no secret that people's fondness for the Princess of Wales was a big factor in how the Queen and even Prince Charles were perceived by the masses after Charles' cheating scandal broke out. While that kind of discord has softened up over the years with Camilla already attending public functions, some die-hards continue to harbor animosity toward the tragedy of the 1996 divorce. Even until now, conspiracy theories with regard to the real cause of Diana's death have been pinned on the British Royal Family although nothing has been proven.

However, before that drama unfolds in season 2, "The Crown" will be dealing with a young Charles as he starts to be groomed as the heir to the throne. Narrative on growing up under the tough scrutiny of everyone under a royal household can be expected as well.

"The Crown" is still streaming on Netflix while its sequel is tipped to debut later this year.
