'The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited' Release Date: Limited Beta Launched, Closing April 27
The limited closed public beta of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" was launched at 10 a.m. EDT on Thursday, April 23, and will come to a close on Monday, April 27, at 10 a.m. EDT.
Only those who have received invitation sent through email by ZeniMax Online Studios can participate.
This is the beta for the console version of the game which is coming to the Xbox One and PS4. Those who signed up and were accepted in the beta program will get to enjoy the new game subscription free.
As for the game itself, it is due to launch on June 9. Bethesda, the game developer, has no more planned beta programs after this.
ZeniMax Online Studios started sending email invitations since Monday. Those who received the invitation will have to start downloading the files for the game as soon as possible since it is a massive download of over 65 GB.
The FAQ released for the limited closed beta also indicated that gamers who participated in the beta program will not be able to transfer their progress and characters to the game which arrives in June. The beta program will also not allow cross platform play.
However, those who own the PC and Mac versions of the game will be able to transfer their characters to the new console version.
"The Elder Scrolls Online" was launched for the PC and Mac last year. The edition for consoles was due to follow but was subsequently pushed to this year. There is also going to be no monthly subscription fee for playing the game. Hence the game was renamed "The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited."
ZeniMax Online Studios encouraged participants in the beta program of the massively multiplayer online role playing game to share their screenshots as there is no NDA in place.
