'The Evil Within' Release Date, DLC 'Assignment' News: Julie Kidman's Whereabouts Revealed in Game's DLC Part 1 Titled 'The Assignment'

Players of the survival horror game "The Evil Within" around the world will finally get their hands on the first of a two-part downloadable content, or DLC, next week, IGN has reported.

Titled "The Assignment," part 1 will be launched on March 10 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. Players using the PlayStation platform in Europe will be able to play the game on March 11.

The DLC will focus on detective Julie Kidman, the partner of protagonist Sebastian Castellanos. It will center on her whereabouts during the events of "The Evil Within" and reveal her hidden motivations as well as her link to the antagonist organization Mobius.

Players are encouraged to complete The Assignment Completionist Guide for a free wallpaper, Bethesda wrote in its blog on Monday. The new title update will be deployed this week on Steam, PSN, Xbox LIVE.

The story about Kidman will continue on "The Evil Within: The Consequence," which will be released later this spring.

The game by Shinji Mikami's Tango Gameworks is set to get its third DLC pack, titled "The Keeper," later this year.

All three DLCs planned for "The Evil Within" are included in the game's Season Pass on the gamer's preferred platform, but "The Assignment" can be bought separately for $10.

"The Evil Within," which was launched last year, was described by IGN as "aesthetically, functionally, and spiritually in step with director Shinji Mikami's last foray into the genre, the iconic Resident Evil 4."

Meanwhile, here is the list of achievements in Part 1 of "The Assignment":

Prank Call – Lure an enemy with a phone call and lock them in a room (Chapter 1).

A Different Beginning – Clear Chapter 1, "An Oath."

Clutch! – Use a single trap to kill two or more enemies in The Assignment (Chapter 2).

Not as it Seems – Clear Chapter 2, "Crossing Paths."

A Warning – Complete the hidden letter in The Assignment.

All You Need is Axe – Survive the duel without using any electronic devices in the environment (Chapter 2).

Doctor's Notes – Collect all Research Documents in The Assignment.

Not Afraid of the Dark – Clear The Assignment in KURAYAMI Mode.

Death Grip – Get a Cadaver to grab and kill a Haunted (Chapter 2).

A Piece of My Past – Collect all Personnel Files in The Assignment.
