'The Fate of the Furious' premiere date, cast news, spoilers: Dom coerced to betray his family?

Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) will be doing something that no one would have ever expected — betraying his family. However, Dom might not be doing it out of his own free will. Meanwhile, the Shaws' mother might be involved in Dom's big mess.

Directed by F. Gary Gary, "The Fate of The Furious" is slated to hit theaters this April, and it will feature the biggest betrayal yet in the history of the "Fast" movies.

"When a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew face trials that will test them as never before," the synopsis found on the film's IMDb page reads.

As seen from the trailers, the mysterious woman is portrayed by Charlize Theron who will be known as Cipher in the film.

But a recent sneak peek for "The Fate of the Furious" showed that Dom might only be coerced to betray his family.

"I think I need to remind you why you chose to do this," Cipher tells Dom.

"I got no choice!" Dom answers back, frustrated.

It is yet to be revealed what Cipher has on Dom for him to betray his family to the point that he smashes all their cars in one big mess.

Meanwhile, it seems that the Shaw brothers' mother is involved in the mess that Cipher is causing the crew.

Helen Mirren will play the Shaw mother, as revealed by Luke Evans, who portrays Owen Shaw in one of the "Fast" films.

Evans added that although his character was last seen in a coma, he says that there's still a possibility that he wakes up and joins in on the fun in "The Fate of the Furious," Yahoo! reported.

"Fate of the Furious" is expected to hit theaters on Friday, April 14.
