'The Flash' season 3 spoilers: Danielle Panabaker reveals why her character is keeping her powers a secret
Danielle Panabaker, who portrays Caitlin in the "The Flash" TV series, recently revealed why her character from the show was hiding her newly discovered superhero powers from team Flash.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Panabaker explained why Caitlin has not yet told Barry aka The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) that she is gaining powers similar to her Earth-2 doppelgänger Killer Frost.
"After hearing [about], and briefly meeting, Killer Frost at the end of Season 2, I think she's terrified that could be her future," Panabaker revealed to the news outlet. "She said to Cisco at the end of last season, 'I'm scared, I don't want to become her,' as she was suffering from her PTSD after everything with Zoom [Teddy Sears]. It is something that she's very afraid of and cognizant of and trying to avoid."
Panabaker also said that she understands her character's decision but at the same time, she hopes that Caitlin will ask help from her friends who have proven time and time again that they can be trusted.
As revealed in the latest episode of the TV show, Caitlin was far from ready to tell her friends. But she did consult someone she could trust, her mom, Dr. Carla Tannhauser (Susan Walters). She visited her mother, hoping that the older woman could shed some light on controlling powers. But when her mother treated her like a test subject, her plan started to fall apart.
In the sixth episode of The Flash titled "Shade," viewers will see the Scarlett Speedster face Doctor Alchemy. Though the trailer did not reveal a lot of details, The Flash will be able to find the villain's lair when he's looking for Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale).
"The Flash" season 3 returns to The CW on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT.
