'The Incredibles 2' release date, plot news: Syndrome's death to be avenged by family?
New details have emerged regarding "The Incredibles 2," this time about the timing of the sequel, which will hit the cinemas in 2019.
When the release date of the film about a new adventure of the beloved Parr family, fans were quick to point out a scene in the first film.
This is the scene in the movie where villain Syndrome tells Mr. Incredible that he is "15 years too late" as the superhero begged him to spare his family from his wrath.
Syndrome, who looked up to Mr. Increible when he was little, was referring to the time the Parr patriarch killed his hopes and dreams of being a superhero.
He vowed to make Mr. Incredible's life miserable after that. How that connects to "The Incredibles 2" is the 15 years remark. The sequel happens to be set for release 15 years after the first film.
According to E! Online, this could be a hint that Syndrome's defeat in the last film will be avenged by a family member such as a sister or another brother in "The Incredibles 2."
The sequel has been a long time coming but was never announced until last year. Released first in 2004, the film's first fans will be adults by the time "The Incredibles 2."
It is unknown if the 15-year gap and the mention in the first film are just a coincidence. It will, either way, be of great use a plot point.
At this point in time, not much is known about "The Incredibles 2." Director Brad Bird recently spoke about his plans for the film, teasing a big change.
"It's very actively moving, and we're excited about it," Bird told Entertainment Weekly. "We're trying to take it in some new directions," he continued.
