'The Last of Us 2' release date, new details: New characters and storyline introduced in sequel?

One of the most anticipated sequels in the gaming community is "The Last of Us 2." The original installment was a hit since it offered a deep gameplay and amazing storyline. There have not been many official details for the sequel, but a lot of speculations are circulating the internet.

According to the reports of Parent Herald, there is a huge possibility that "The Last of Us 2" may offer new characters and also a new story. However, fans are still curious with the characters from the first game which are Ellie and Joel if they are still alive or not.

There are also rumors saying that the developers of the game, Naughty Dog, may have possibly started working on the title already. The details about the sequel may have accidentally leaked by one of its voice actors which is Nolan North, but Naughty Dog still has not gave any confirmation yet if this is true. However, it the rumors may be true, the game may possible take around 4-5 years before it is completed.

Furthermore, the company has released the remastered version of "The Last of Us" for Sony's latest console, PlayStation 4 Pro. This may have been done by the developers in order to use it as a distraction for fans while the sequel is not being released yet. The remastered version of the game has the capability to run 60 frames per second (FPS) at a 1080p resolution, but so far the title has been experiencing problems in the new console.

Another suggestion why the sequel may also be taking a long time to come out is because the developers may still be busy with the downloadable content (DLC) of "Uncharted 4."

There is no definite release date yet for "The Last of Us 2," but it may possible released in 2020.
