"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is highly anticipated due to its promising gameplay and graphical display. Gamers say that it will be the grandest open-world role-playing game (RPG) next year, but some doubt if it can achieve success without the help of Nintendo Switch and other hit video game consoles.

In an article by iDigital Times, gamers have been expecting highly of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and Nintendo will have to sell significant amount of copies, aside from Nintendo Switch, to make the title a success. The pressure is definitely on as gamers are now waiting if the title can be on par with popular titles like "Fallout," "Skyrim" and "The Witcher."

To make a comparison, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" can be considered as one of the biggest open-world RPG of this time, but "The Witcher 3" and "Fallout" have to be considered for their gameplay as well. The latter was able to showcase a comprehensive platform that offers freedom for the players while the former has apparently defined what an RPG truly means.

The rival titles are an indication that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" should bring on its A-game if it wants to stand out from the tight competition. The publication believes that the title will need to show something unique so that it will not be compared with the two successful RPGs. "Zelda" will have to offer its unique niche, which is said to have been monotonous for the past several years.

It could be recognized, however, that "Zelda's" selling point is its mythical approach, in which players are taken into the world of fairy tale, folklore and others. It is believed to have achieved a sense of history with its gameplay and it is able to have its own mythology.

"Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is slated for a 2017 release date and will be available on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
