'The Originals' air date, spoilers news: Cancellation rumors debunked by Julie Plec
Since the hit series "The Vampire Diaries" is running its last season, fans are left wondering if its companion series "The Originals" will also conclude soon.
After eight seasons, "The Vampire Diaries" will finally end. This will force fans to say goodbye to their favorite characters as the show hits its final episodes. However, there remains the question of saying goodbye to the characters of "The Originals."
Many believe that "The Originals" will most likely get canceled due to the conclusion of "The Vampire Diaries." However, reports indicated that the executive producer of the series Julie Plec is still keen on continuing the show. In a previous interview, Plec stated that since the ending of "The Vampire Diaries" is soon, they are excited to put more focus on "The Originals." She stated that she believes in the characters of the show, which is why they are looking forward to going deeper into their narratives.
Though she did not share too much about what season 4 will bring, she teased that a character from "The Vampire Diaries" could be crossing over to "The Originals." Some speculate that she could be referring to Caroline, who is played by Candice Accola. She is expected to be more involved in "The Originals" since fans are aware of her history with Klaus Mikaelson.
Aside from his love life, Plec also teased that Klaus will be faced with some interesting challenges in the season ahead. She stated that his daughter Hope, played by Summer Fortana, will play a big part in the upcoming episodes. She said, "We'll get to see father and daughter eventually reunited, two strangers coming together with so much in common. There's some really special moments between them."
With that, there could be a lot of things happening in the fourth season of "The Originals." The series is expected to return on The CW sometime next year.
