'The Real Housewives of Dallas' season 2 update: Is the show getting a renewal?

"The Real Housewives of Dallas" | Bravo

TV reality show "The Real Housewives of Dallas" closed its first season last month but until now there is no announcement yet for a season 2. Avid viewers are now wondering if Bravo will ever renew the show.

According to reports, franchise creator Andy Cohen expressed hope that the show will get a second run. Even though he is not certain yet if there will ever be another installment, he tries to convince everyone that he is hoping that the leading ladies of the series will return. He spoke to Entertainment Tonight wherein he said, "We're kind of taking a look at the women and the season, and figuring out how we move forward."

Apparently, "The Real Housewives of Dallas" season 1 did not do so well in terms of TV ratings. It's even deemed as the "worst franchise" in the entire housewives history after just one season.

With a total of 11 episodes, the show was not able to gain at least 1 million viewers. It may have something to do with the lack of entertainment that the cast brought if it were to be based on what Cohen said, but other factors are also considered.

Rumors have it that the ladies, which include Cary Deuber, LeeAnne Locken, Tiffany Hendra, Brandi Redmond and Stephanie Hollman, had to fake drama just to create some buzz in the show and win their spot for a season 2. But were they successful, assuming the rumors are true?

Reports indicated that if the Dallas version of the reality TV series decides to push through with season 2, Deuber is game to return. However, her co-star Redmond is said to be uncertain about returning. Redmond went through some marital problems in the first season which could be why she seemed hesitant to put her life in the spotlight again. She even appeared to have hinted a farewell message through her Instagram account.

To find out if "The Real Housewives of Dallas" will return for season 2, viewers will have to stay tuned for updates.
