The second episode of "The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War" showed a couple more hints of the threat that is about to come to Liones. But first there's that Meliodas-Ban match teased in the previous episode's preview.

Fans of the anime will remember that Ban once went to see the Horn of Cernunnos underneath the Liones Castle to demand it to resurrect his beloved Elaine, who was killed by a demon. The Horn told him that in order for this to come true, Ban would first have to kill Meliodas.

When he tried to do this, Meliodas chastised him to fulfill his duty to the kingdom first before promising him the death match he wanted after the war was over. This was apparently what Meliodas meant when he told the Horn to stop lying to his friends in the previous episode. This was also what the leader of the Seven Deadly Sins meant when he told Ban that he had not forgotten his promise.

When Ban reached the designated battle ground on top of the mountain behind the bar, he was horrified to see a crowd of people waiting for him there. Hawk, who heard their conversation from the day before, talked to the other Sins about his concerns.

But their concerns turned out to be unfounded as Meliodas and Ban only meant to engage in a friendly battle of strength, wits and the occasional splatter of blood. Ban no longer had any intention of killing Meliodas. He only wanted to compete with their leader to see how they would fare against the other, since both of them were considered to be the strongest in the team.

While the Meliodas-Ban battle was going on inside Merlin's confining Perfect Cube, another skirmish broke out on the ground between the holy knight Howzer and Grizzly's Sin of Sloth, King, over their mutual affections for Diane. Howzer won the battle with a flick on King's forehead but King ended up winning the prize when a worried Diane ran to his side.

Meanwhile, the King of Liones had an ominous dream premonition, and the hooded man from the previous episode's post credit scene had set his sights on Liones.

The third installment in this special four-episode anime titled, "In Pursuit of First Love" aired in Japan on Sunday, Sept. 11 and put the spotlight on King's unvoiced admiration for his fellow Sin, Diane. The fourth and final installment has been scheduled to air on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. JST on TBS and MBS.

Moreover, "The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War" DVD will be released in two volumes on Jan. 11 and Feb. 8, 2017. It will be available in both regular and limited editions. Additional details can be found on Fandom Post.
