'The Shannara Chronicles' season 2 air date, spoilers, news: Author Terry Brooks shares his view of show
After a season of MTV's new science fiction series titled "The Shannara Chronicles," fans will be happy to know that a second season is expected.
MTV recently adapted a novel series titled "The Shannara Chronicles," which follows the story of a girl with a big mission. Many fans claim that the series is the next "Game of Thrones," as it presents a captivating realm.
With that, a second season can soon be expected, which will see the same character partaking new challenges. However, it seems as though the release for the season is still a while away since reports indicated that the season is still being written. Meanwhile, the author of the novel series, which is the source material of the show, explained that he is happy to see the characters on the small screens.
Terry Brooks said, "I think you always have the fear that somehow it will be terrible. It was not. It was wonderful. It was great watching them. I watched them shoot several scenes ... repeatedly. I think the adaptation is working out just as well as I could have hoped it would. You try not to get your expectations up too high, but I have to say, I'm pretty hopeful about this whole thing. I think it's really good."
Regarding people's comments on the show's similarity to "Game of Thrones," the author explained that "The Shannara Chronicles" is different from the HBO show as its strong selling point is a family friendly fantasy narrative.
He added, "We've always talked about it as a family drama that anyone can watch. I thought of it as a straight adaptation. I told Al and Miles early on, "I know you're going to have to make changes. Just hold the bones of the story together."
