'The Sims 4' news, update: EA reveals latest Halloween-themed event for new Grim Reaper interaction
Electronic Arts has recently opened a new Halloween-themed event in their currently supported life simulation video game "The Sims 4." As the All Hallow's Eve approaches, the Sims players can try and enjoy the new "Day of the Dead" challenge. The spooky reward for the said event is quite interesting and suits the holiday spirit perfectly.
As reported by Yibada, the players who will be able to accomplish the "Day of the Dead" challenge will unlock a newly developed special interaction with the infamous Grim Reaper. To start with the challenge, the players must look out for the return of Jasmine Holiday, the non-playable character (NPC) known to host the previous big events in "The Sims 4." Jasmine has started to appear in different in-game location since Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. PT, according to the official The Sims website.
The players have to interact with Jasmine to have the Sugar Skull Display, which will be used afterward to finish the "Day of the Dead" challenge. They must complete the special nine-piece display case composed of different sugar skull designs. A golden sugar skull will appear after collecting all the needed sugar skulls, which indicates that the new Grim Reaper interaction called "Honor the Dead" is already unlocked.
Aside from the new Grim Reaper interaction, completing the "Day of the Dead" challenge will also give players with a special Halloween-themed moodlet, although it will only be around for a limited period of time. This moodlet will help the Sims to gain more relationship points with the Grim Reaper. Being close with the Grim Reaper is helpful when one of the Sim's loved ones just died. There is a higher chance that the Grim Reaper will grant the Sim's plea to spare his loved ones.
For those who fails to participate in the Halloween event, they can still check out the new "Honor the Dead" interaction as it will become permanent once the "Day of the Dead" challenge officially ends on Nov. 4.
Aside from the regular in-game events, "The Sims 4" is expected to get bigger in the coming months with the future downloadable contents. The latest DLC pack for the game, "City Living," will give more ways for the players to enjoy an urban lifestyle, like living on top of a city's residential skyscraper. This leads people to believe that the rumored "The Sims 5" may not happen anytime soon, or at least until 2019 according to Game N Guide. For now, Electronic Arts appears to be focused on improving "The Sims 4" further with new contents.
