A new patch update was recently implemented by Electronic Arts (EA) for its latest life-simulator video game, "The Sims 4." The said update aims to fix many issues in the game, but most noted by players is the possible new event system that will be introduced soon. The new event system was hinted by a hidden code included in this week's patch.

The patch update arrived in "The Sims 4" on Aug. 16, and it targetted the game bugs and glitches, as well as to add new useful interactions and options in the game. It was raised in The Sims 4 community forum that one of the additional options is in the phone interaction. The players' sims can now have their phone covers changed via new phone customization option. The phone designs include different pattern and color options.

However, the online Sims 4 community also took notice of a possible new event system that will be introduced in "The Sims 4" in the near future. EA is known to hold different special events and include temporary non-playable characters in the game for a particular event system. One example would be the Growfruit challenge that introduced the character of Jasmine Holiday, which was later on removed when the event ended.

Yibada reported that a hidden code included in the latest patch was picked up by some players. This code is said to hint a possible new "XP" event system in the coming months where the game will introduce a period of higher experience points and performance boosts giveaways. It is also possible that the "XP" event system will feature friendship or relationship level boosts that may cause a faster or slower rate of increase.

Other bug fixes included in the latest patch are the correction of a Sim's action in which he would automatically stop sleeping and watch a DJ Booth or Puppet Theater Show afterwards. Some issues in the Create-a-Sim (CAS) module were also corrected by the patch update.

On the other hand, the next expansion pack of "The Sims 4" was leaked by the Inquisitr, saying that the new content pack for the game is related to modern city living. However, EA has not yet announced their plans for a new expansion stuff pack.
