In the final run of "The Vampire Diaries," fans are anticipating the return of Elena.

Plec previously stated, "Obviously, things can change throughout time, if the show goes on longer than we expect it to, or if we all collectively decide it would be fun to bring her back earlier, and she wanted to. So I'm sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end. Not to put too much pressure on anything, but a promise was made. here's been friendship promises made and now we'll see if we can deliver on them."

With the season ongoing, there is a lot of anticipation to see the character back on the small screen. Fortunately, Dobrev recently said something in an interview that ignited fans' excitement once again.

When asked if she will return, Dobrev stated, "That's a good question. That's a very, very good question. You should ask the producers. You should ask the powers that be above."

After saying that, fans began voicing out their excitement, assuming that this is a confirmation for her return. If this is the case, the upcoming episodes of the series will surely bring an interesting surprise for the fans.
