'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 episode 10 spoilers: Damon trapped inside his mind; Stefan the only one who can save him
After the bloody Miss Mystic Falls pageant and the mayhem that came with it, "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 continues with episode 10, "Nostalgia's A B—h" with a very confounded Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
In the previous episode, Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) forced Damon's humanity back to him. This resulted in Damon being "trapped in his own mind," as Caroline (Candice King) puts it.
Sybil is the only person who can help him return to his old self, but as seen in the promo for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 10, she would not cooperate.
Caroline and Bonnie (Kat Graham) are desperate to help Damon out and so they tried by going inside his mind. There, they meet people from their past, but quickly realizes Stefan (Paul Wesley) will also have to get involved to be able to save Damon.
It looks like Stefan will be willing, but for a different reason. The Salvatore brothers are shown wrangling with each other in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 10 preview. From the looks of it, Damon is trying to convince Stefan to go back to normal.
With his humanity off, Stefan has become obsessed with working for Cade (Wole Parks) and does not intend on stopping the slaughter to please the Devil.
"Remember that vampire I was warning you about, running around in my head? It's not me, it's you," Damon tells his brother. Unfortunately, he might not be able to change his mind.
Stefan warns him that he will "burn Mystic Falls to the ground" before clocking his already bloody brother. It looks like Stefan could be at a point of no return.
Sybil left the gang to figure out what to do with Damon. After all, in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 10, she will be very busy getting control of the bell before her sister Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) gets to kill her with it.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 10, "Nostalgia's A B—h," airs Friday, Jan. 27, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
