Stefan (Paul Wesley) feels responsible for bringing Cade (Wolé Parks) out of hell, so he will try to put him back where he belongs. Meanwhile, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) has been confirmed to return before the season finale.

On the next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, titled "It's Been a Hell of a Ride," Stefan will try to take a stab at Cade because he feels guilty for having the devil walk on Earth and cause mayhem in Mystic Falls.

As seen on the episode promo, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will be hesitant about Stefan's plan because Elena's (Nina Dobrev) chance of coming back might be ruined if they won't be able to put the devil to rest.

"Damon and Stefan must join forces against Cade in order to save Elena's casket. Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice King) and Alaric (Matt Davis) deal with their daughters' burgeoning magical powers," the synopsis posted on The Futon Critic reads.

It appears that Damon will help Stefan in killing the devil, but will they be able to do it? The Salvatore brothers might be shorthanded in fighting against the devil, as Caroline and Alaric will be busy dealing with their twins who have been using their magic to throw a fit.

Meanwhile, Malarkey has confirmed during an interview with TVLine that his character will be returning before "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 comes to a close, despite having Stefan grab his heart and kill him right before Bonnie's (Kat Graham) eyes.

"I've gone in and done a couple bits here and there," the actor shared.

Malarkey added, "I kind of knew it was coming, how it all wraps up. Julie had talked to some of us beforehand, telling us some ideas, so I was prepared for either way it would go."

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 airs every Friday night at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
