A new villain arrives in Mystic Falls as Caroline races against the clock to bring back her daughters in an all-new episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 titled "Detoured On Some Random Backwoods Path to Hell."

According to reports, the arrival of Cade (Wolé Parks) has something to do with Alaric (Matt Davis) and Caroline's (Candice King) children, Elizabeth and Josie. It can be recalled that in the previous episode, Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) was revealed as the siren and that she had taken the twins.

Given the power that the girls possess, what role will they play in the siren's plans? It is expected that Seline and Sybil's (Nathalie Kelley) true motives will be revealed in the next installment. Furthermore, Cade's involvement will also be featured.

Based on the official synopsis of the upcoming episode, Caroline will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of her family, even if it means risking her life. In the promo, she tells Stefan (Paul Wesley) that there will be hell to pay if Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tries to get in between her and her girls.

In turn, Stefan pledges to do everything he can to make sure the twins are saved before it's too late. He decides to dive into his subconsciousness and in the process, he unleashes a series of events that will force him to make a life-changing decision.

Elsewhere, the tension between Alaric and Caroline reaches an all-time high, making them realize some harsh realities about the future of their family. Meanwhile, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) finds himself struggling to resist Sybil's latest move. It is expected that Bonnie (Katerina Graham) will be pivotal in helping Enzo.

Will Seline and Sybil's mysterious agenda be revealed? Will Caroline get to her daughters on time? To find out, be sure to catch episode 6 on Dec. 2.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs every Friday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
