'The Vampire Diaries' season 8 episode 7 spoilers: Stefan's last day as a free man; a bloody Christmas Eve dinner
The next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, "The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You," will mark the last day of Stefan (Paul Wesley) as a free man.
As fans saw in the previous "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode, he and his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) sold their souls to the devil, Cade (Wolé Parks), to spare the twins.
Stefan gets one last day as a free man and intends to make it the perfect 24 hours he can have, not to mention it could be the last Christmas Eve dinner he will have with Caroline (Candice King) and the rest of his loved ones.
However, things will not go smoothly as "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 7 will see both Damon and Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) crashing the dinner.
The intimate occasion — attended by Matt (Zach Roerig), his father, Peter (Joel Gretsch), Alaric (Matt Davis) and the twins — will easily take a turn for the worse.
One of the promotional stills from "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 7 shows Damon and Sybil sharing a meal with everybody, easily making everything tense and awkward.
Another sees the older Salvatore threatening to kill Peter with a knife to his throat. Clearly, things will not go the way Stefan planned his send-off to be Cade's soul taker will go.
More ominously, the synopsis for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 7 also teases that Cade will get inside Stefan's head to plant the seeds of his evil turn as early as possible.
This suggests that his journey to the dark side will be more cemented than ever before. However, fans still count on Damon having something up his sleeve to get themselves out of this life of blood and soul reaping.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8, episode 7, "The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You," which also serves as the midseason finale, will air on Friday, Dec.9, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
