'The Walking Dead' Season 5 New Episode Recap: Good Deeds Got Rick's Group Into Trouble

"The Walking Dead" episode which aired last Sunday at 9/8c on AMC featured all the major groups and focused on how their good intentions got them into trouble.

Viewers got to see what happened to Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and his group and also how Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group went about the task of getting into Grady Memorial Hospital.

Titled "Crossed," the episode started with Rick and his group barricading the church with all available things they could find, including organ pipes and pews. After which they left to force their way into Grady Memorial Hospital to rescue Carol (Melissa McBride) and Beth (Emily Kinney). This left Michonne ( Danai Gurira) and Carl (Chandler Riggs) in the church with Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam). Carl gave Gabriel lessons on survival as Michonne lent a sympathetic ear to Gabriel's problems. All of a sudden, Gabriel escaped from the church by prying up the floorboards.

In Atlanta, meanwhile, the mission to rescue Beth and Carol went ahead. Rick's group used Noah (Tyler James Williams) as bait to capture the cops stationed at the hospital. This resulted in a pursuit that almost went wrong.

After capturing the cops, Rick and his gang kept them as hostages, hoping that they could trade them for Beth and Carol. Rick simply wanted to kill them, but Tyreese (Chad Coleman) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) persuaded him to keep them alive.

Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) attempted to help one of the cops but she got knocked out and left in an abandoned building.

The series also caught up with Abraham and his gang just after he beat Eugene (Josh McDermitt). Abraham was still in a state of shock and was kneeling in the middle of a road while Eugene was unconscious.

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) then managed to keep Abraham calm by threatening to shoot him. Glenn (Steven Yeun), Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) later went to a creek to get water. At the creek, they managed to catch some fish.

On the road, Eugene finally started waking up.
