'The Walking Dead' season 7 episode 10 spoilers, news: Rick meets mysterious group; director talks about upcoming season 7 finale
Rick (Andrew Lincoln) will be meeting a new group of armed survivors, and they can either be new friends or new foes. Meanwhile, the show's executive producer commented on how different the finale of "The Walking Dead" season 7 will be to how it began.
In the upcoming 10th episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7, titled "New Best Friends," Rick will be crossing paths with a new community that can either be their friend or foe. The synopsis reads, "While searching for a missing Alexandrian, Rick and his group encounter a mysterious collective, its inhabitants unlike any they have come across."
As seen from the episode promo, these new people will be threatening Rick of captivity, but the old sheriff will try to convince them to achieve their freedom from Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Scott M. Gimple shared more insights on how Rick feels about receiving a hostile welcome from this community.
"Rick is caught in this awful situation and you'd think somebody wouldn't be too happy about it — but all these people aren't just a threat; they're an answer," Gimple explained.
Since King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) refused to join Rick in the war against the Saviors, the old sheriff might find meeting this new armed and feisty group of survivors as the key to winning against Negan.
Meanwhile, executive producer Greg Nicotero shared praises for the upcoming "The Walking Dead" season 7 finale episode that is slated to premiere on March 12.
"It's everything that you would ever want. It's thrilling. It's emotional. It's powerful. Everything that's, when our show fires on all cylinders you can't stop it," Nicotero teased.
Nicotero added that the showrunners have been laying seeds to build up the season finale, and he claims that the final episode will be amazing.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
