'The Walking Dead' season 7 episode 14 spoilers: Saviors terrorize Hilltop once again; Morgan traumatized by Benjamin's death
Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors will be making an unexpected and terrorizing trip to the Hilltop. Meanwhile, Morgan (Lennie James) is regressing from his peace of mind as he was traumatized by Benjamin's (Logan Miller) death.
On the next episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7, titled "The Other Side," the Hilltop will be unexpectedly visited by the Saviors, and it seems that Negan will be taking one of the community members away.
"The Saviors visit the Hilltop unexpectedly, surprising everyone, with plans of taking more than supplies," the episode listing reads from Screener TV.
Meanwhile, Morgan had killed Richard (Karl Makinen) out of rage after he found out that he got Benjamin killed by sabotaging the Kingdom's contribution to the Saviors. According to executive producer Scott Gimple, Morgan was traumatized over Benjamin's death and is now regressing to a violent state.
"The thing that changed Morgan was trauma. ... And trauma is something that affects people in a very individual way," Gimple explained to Yahoo! News.
Gimple went on about how Morgan has steered away from living a traumatized life with the help of Eastman (John Carroll Lynch) and his philosophies. But because of Benjamin's death over Richard's actions, "he's trapped in that place once again."
The showrunner added that Morgan went as far as bringing Carol (Melissa McBride) in the fight against the Saviors. Although Carol also wanted to know the truth about Negan, it seems that telling her the truth to get her to join the fight was a big leap.
Gimple added that Morgan is sharpening the stick that Eastman altered into an aikido tool to help him get through his trauma. This only tells that Morgan "who had found peace" has begun to enter a shadowed state of mind because of what happened to Benjamin.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
