'The Walking Dead' season 7 spoilers, plot news: Trouble ahead for Tara and Heath?

The eagerly awaited installment of "The Walking Dead" is said to be focusing on Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Heath (Corey Hawkins). Both decided to go their own way in a vehicle headed toward Alexandria, as seen in the finale of last season. Now what will be their fate in the zombie-infested area they took?

There is no indication that they made it out, but the vehicle spotted was a clue. Still it was not revealed if both were still on board it when it was last seen. But of course, if the show's upcoming installment will be exploring Tara's character more deeply this time, it is a great possibility that the two did survive.

Other characters who are said to be appearing in "The Walking Dead" season 7 include Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Enid (Katelyn Nacon), and Carl (Chandler Riggs). Reports say that some scenes will also be devoted to these characters. With this update, it is safe to assume that none of them was the unfortunate character who had been at the receiving end of Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Lucille swat.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Morgan as well as other stars were upped to regular status in the series. These include Xander Berkeley (Gregory), Tom Payne (Jesus), and Austin Amelio (Dwight). This brings the count of regular cast members to around 20, with a view towards losing one as soon as the next season begins, when the identity of Negan's victim is finally revealed.

Greg Nicotero, the executive producer for "The Walking Dead," has confirmed that the major reveal would come out in the premiere episode of season 7.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the AMC series EP said, "Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan's bat will be revealed in the first episode,"

"The Walking Dead" season 7 will debut sometime in October.
