'The Walking Dead' season 7B predictions, spoilers: Alexandrians ask allies to unite against Negan?
War is definitely coming when "The Walking Dead" returns for a new batch of season 7 episodes next year.
The first half of season 7 left off with yet another brutal death of a major character: Spencer Monroe (Austin Nichols). Main villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) publicly eviscerated the helpless Alexandrian, ripping his guts out for everyone to see.
Details about what's next for the show remain under wraps, but it is speculated that the story will pick up with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) finally ready to stand up against the Saviors. Rick's current group of allies won't be enough if he plans to wage an all-out war against the nefarious character, leading fans to believe that he will recruit more people to join his team.
An alliance with the Hilltop and the Kingdom will still make the Alexandrians outgunned, so it is believed that they will ask help from Oceanside, a community Tara (Alanna Masterson) discovered while out getting supplies. Even though the chances of Negan dying at the end of season 7 are slim, there are rumors that Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) will be the next one to go. Martin-Green recently landed the lead role on CBS All Access' "Star Trek: Discovery," making viewers doubt if she'll remain in the AMC program for one more season.
"The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman previously said he already have an ending planned for the hit series, but he also assured fans that it's not happening for a very long time. Although there's still no end in sight for the zombie drama, star Michael Rooker — who played Merle Dixon — shared his own personal theory on how the series will come to an end.
During this weekend's Walker Stalker Con, the actor said Carl (Chandler Riggs) might be the only one left when everything concludes. "No one else is with him—just him," he explained. "And as he does his voiceover, you realize that all the seasons that you've seen is him reliving his past. So everyone on the show is dead. He's the only survivor, and he's on his own and walks off into the sunset. And that's the end of the show," he went on to say.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 returns to the airwaves on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
