This week's "The Young and the Restless" (Monday to Friday over CBS) does not let up on its daily dose of drama and mystery, serving it up in abundant measure.

For starters, Billy (Burgess Jenkins) and Dr. Ben "Stitch" Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) find Victoria (Amelia Heinle) undergoing labor pains while in the supply room.

Stitch helps Victoria in her delivery. This unexpected act of bonding is instrumental to Victoria's coming clean about several secrets, including that of her having killed the father of Stitch.

With the newborn comes complication in the relationship of Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Billy, which is still starting out and not yet strong enough to weather an unexpected turn of events. In particular, such an event is the possibility that Billy could actually be the father of Victoria's baby. This much was touched on when Jack (Peter Bergman) brought up the topic with Billy.

Meanwhile, Abby (Melissa Ordway) lets Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) learn about Victoria having delivered a baby, going to the extent of telling the two that the baby is a girl.

In other plot developments, Avery (Jessica Colins) and Sharon (Sharon Case) get involved in a face off, and Austin (Matthew Atkinson) finds out about the past of Summer (Hunter King).

Given how "The Young and the Restless" has been running for three decades now, it can be a pain to keep up with the twists and turns in the storylines, especially with all the cast changes that have happened as the years unfolded.

Still, as long as "The Young and the Restless" keeps on delivering the drama, intrigue, passion, and mystery, it looks like the show will be staying around for a longer time, to the enjoyment of its fans, in particular those who practically grew up with the show.
