'Thor: Ragnarok' news, rumors, spoilers: Thor will need help of Doctor Strange, to set up premise of 'Planet Hulk'
The filming for the upcoming Marvel feature film "Thor: Ragnarok" is still ongoing, and there are only limited details available regarding the content of the new sequel. However, the recent photos on the set of the movie reveal an important cameo appearance that the Marvel fans should look forward to.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is still filming in their location in Australia, but for the past few weeks, it was confirmed that the movie has also shot in other popular locations in the world, particularly in New York City. As reported by Polygon, "Thor" lead actor Chris Hemsworth was seen on the New York location. This will not be the first time that Thor was in the Big Apple, as 2012's "The Avengers" brought the Asgardian in New York City while fighting a huge Chitauri army. This time around, it looks like Thor will be visiting someone important in the city.
Specifically, the actor was seen holding a business card with a familiar address indicated on it. The address is 177A Bleecker Street, which the fans will recognize as Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum in New York. It is possible that Hemsworth's character will need Stephen Strange's help, although that still has to be confirmed. Nevertheless, this implies that Benedict Cumberbatch, which will play Doctor Strange in the MCU, is going to make an appearance in "Thor: Ragnarok." Cumberbatch is already set to play the role in his upcoming solo movie "Doctor Strange" this November.
Meanwhile, Game Spot reported that Thor's fellow Avenger, Hulk/Dr. Bruce Banner, will play an important part in "Thor: Ragnarok." Hulk was last seen parting way with the Avengers in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." It appears that he will find himself in Asgard with Thor, although it is not known how important his role would be in Thor's quest to stop the great war called the Ragnarok. The Hulk's appearance outside of Earth would also imply that the stage is being set for the Marvel character's solo movie, "Planet Hulk." This is based on the original comic book that features Banner fighting off sinister creatures on an unknown planet as his ferocious green alter-ego.
