"Thor: Ragnarok," the third Marvel Cinematic Universe film featuring Chris Hemsworth's Thor, has begun filming.

Earlier this week, Hemsworth shared a short video on Instagram of his first day on the movie's filming location.

"Here we are, beginning of shooting for 'Thor 3' at the studios," he said. "I've got my shake. Got my shoes."

"And as requested, I got my rollercoaster put in," the actor teased, pointing to a rollercoaster not far off.

In reality, the rollercoaster just so happened to be right next to the studio in which "Thor: Ragnarok" is being made.

According to ComicBook.com, the cast and crew of "Ragnarok" are in Queensland, Australia, where the film is being shot at the Village Roadshow Studios, which sits right beside the Warner Bros. Movie World theme park (hence, the rollercoaster).

The outlet also said that filming will eventually take place in Brisbane and Sydney. The shoot is expected to wrap by October.

"Thor: Ragnarok" is expected to take a slight detour from its predecessors and may feature more comedic elements care of its director, Taika Waititi, who is known for helming smaller indie films. The plot for "Ragnarok" has been widely reported to draw inspiration both from the Planet Hulk and the Ragnarok storylines of the Marvel Comics.

On Monday, July 4, "Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed congratulated Waititi on the film's first day of shooting. "Congrats to @TaikaWaititi and @bradwinderbaum on Day 1 of principal photography on THOR: RAGNAROK! (Taika, remember: explosions!) #Mjölnir," he wrote on Twitter.

Waititi responded, writing, "@MrPeytonReed @louisde2 Pretty sweet 1st day. Look at all these people who turned up to work. #Blessed #support." An image showing the empty chairs of the film's crew members accompanied the tweet.

Marvel's co-president Louis D'Esposito also wished the film's cast and crew luck on Sunday, July 3. "Best of luck to @TaikaWaititi and the whole cast and crew of #ThorRagnarok. July 4 they started filming. Australia is in the future," he tweeted.

"Thor: Ragnarok" sees the return of franchise stars Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Anthony Hopkins. Joining them are Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Karl Urban.

"Thor: Ragnarok" is slated for a Nov. 3, 2017 release.
