'Thor: Ragnarok' plot spoilers: Thor pitted against Hulk in gladiator fight
From fighting evil entities on Earth in the previous Marvel feature films, it is expected that Thor (Christ Hemsworth) will go back to his homeland, the kingdom of Asgard, to fight the biggest threat yet to hit the Nine Realms. The mighty Avenger will try to prevent a huge and destructive war from happening in "Thor: Ragnarok," although this time around, his Avengers teammate will be joining him in battle, and possibly fighting him on one occasion.
Game Spot reported that Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), also known as Dr. Bruce Banner in his human form, will have a significant role to play in the upcoming "Thor" sequel. It is not yet fully confirmed if Hulk will help Thor in the impending great war of Asgard, although an interesting rumor suggests that Hulk will be sporting a gladiator armor in the movie. If this turns out to be true, then "Thor: Ragnarok" may also set up the events of another future Marvel film, "Planet Hulk," based on the original comic book featuring the green monster fighting off sinister creatures on an unknown planet.
Moreover, Hulk's gladiator outfit will be a big help for the character as it is also rumored that Thor will be fighting him in a gladiator fight. This fight will happen as Thor will be banished from Asgard and end up in another realm, where the immortal Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) will be holding the said gladiator fight and pit him against a fully-armored Hulk.
Parent Herald reported that the latest main villain of "Thor," Hela (Cate Blanchett), will be the one to banish Thor from Asgard. Her main objective is to bring the historic great war, also known in Norse mythology as the Ragnarok, upon Asgard. As there will be no one person to stop her, she will join forces with Thor's adoptive brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), to proceed with her plans.
Meanwhile, IGN picked up on a report that another Marvel superhero, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), may appear in "Thor: Ragnarok" as recent pictures reveal that one of the filming locations is in New York City. Specifically, Thor is seen holding a piece of paper that has Dr. Stephen Strange's address.
