Tim Tebow news, stats: performance may not have been strong enough
After Tim Tebow's finale for this fall season, many are curious about what the future holds for the well-known athlete.
Though the final run of the athlete was pretty good, many fans fear that his performance may not pave a good road for his stocks. It is believed that he did not do well enough in order to set up an optimistic future.
Tebow concluded the fall season with stellar stats. It was revealed that his final line for the season was .194/.296/.242 with two RBI, three doubles, eight walks and 20 strikeouts in 71 plate appearances.
However, Tebow was able to share his insight about what lies ahead for his career. In an interview with MLB, he explained that he is hoping for success in the next season. He said, "I felt I improved every single week. I feel good about the last week, walking away with four hits and three bases on balls in the last four games. I was pulling the ball a lot at first, and not the way you want to pull it, a lot of rollovers. I'm staying with pitches more now, going with them. I'm trying to get my foot down and hit the ball where it's pitched."
Unfortunately, it was stated that scouts are not too in favor with his performance. Because of that, it seems as though not a lot of sources are too enthusiastic about him. Despite this, the General Manager of the Mets Sandy Alderson shared some positive feedback about Tebow.
Alderson explained, "The idea for us was just to get him more game experience there. We thought he might be somewhat overmatched and that was true early on, but from the first 10 days of the Arizona Fall League to the last 10 days, there was a marked improvement."
