Daytime soap opera star Brandon Barash landed a guest role in an upcoming episode of "Timeless."

TVLine exclusively revealed that the actor who portrayed the role of former mob boss Johnny Zacharra in the long-running daytime soap "General Hospital" will portray the role of the American novelist Ernest Hemingway in NBC's new sci-fi time-traveling drama.

Barash will appear in the show's episode 14, which is reportedly set in Paris at the time of the Jazz age after the first World War. According to the report, the time-travelling viewers will meet Hemingway as an up-and-coming and adventurous newspaper reporter.

The episode is expected to air on Feb. 6.

Aside from Barash, the series will also include "Supernatural" alum Jim Beaver in its growing cast roster after the actor was tapped to appear in the show's last three episodes of season 1.

Based on a separate report from the same publication, Beaver will portray the role of National Security Agency (NSA) Agent Neville, who will be assigned to investigate the events at the Mason Industries. He will reportedly have an argument with Department of Homeland Security special agent Denise Christopher (Sakina Jaffrey). According to the report, Neville will be keeping a very dark secret that he will try to protect.

Meanwhile, the series will return after the winter hiatus with the episode titled "The World's Columbian Exposition." In the episode, Lucy's (Abigail Spencer) life will be in deep danger under the hands of their greatest nemesis, and only the legendary escape artist Harry Houdini (guest star Michael Drayer) can help her.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode that was posted on The Futon Critic reads, "Lucy's situation grows desperate after she's taken captive by Flynn (Goran ViÅ¡njić) and brought to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. In their dogged pursuit of Lucy, Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) fall into a sinister trap."

NBC will air the upcoming episode of "Timeless" on Monday, Jan. 16.
