Titanfall 2 updates: Game to be unveiled on June 12 at the EA Play event

Respawn Entertainment

Titanfall recently had everyone in the gaming world talking after it was confirmed to have a sequel which will be multiplatform. A teaser trailer has been released last week and fans are already itching to have their hands on the latest offering from Respawn.

Released in 2014, the first Titanfall bagged several accolades when it was launched. As indicated in the trailer,Titanfall 2 will be unveiled on June 12 during the EA Play event. Rumor has it that the game will hit the shelves no sooner than October this year, but the company has yet to announce an official release date. Unlike the original game which was released exclusively for Xbox platforms, the second installment will be available for Play Station 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

Titanfall might seem promising as it garnered mostly positive reviews but there are some aspects where it fell short of the gamers' expectations. As noted by Crossmap, the game was failed to impress most users because of its "thin campaign, disappointing artificial intelligence, and lack of community features and multiplayer modes."

Given that the game has huge potential to be better than its predecessor, Games Radar reports that Titanfall needs to learn a thing or two from it rival first-person shooting games. Since it is now in its second installment, tech-savvy fans expect the franchise to up the ante when it comes to the gameplay itself. "The original Titanfall is a sturdy frame with some great nested ideas, begging for a bigger, better sequel to refine and perfect them. With enough time, resources, and loving attention, the bones are there for Titanfall 2 to be an unqualified hit, a game that survives the first few weeks after release and keeps players hungry for years afterwards," the media outlet suggests.

As noted by Polygon, Respawn staffers hinted that the upcoming sequel will have more weapons to choose from as well as an improved and more solid single player campaign.
