The TV series based on the Japanese Manga of the same name is expected to debut in 2017. Additionally, new character may be joining in "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3.

"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 was initially expected to debut by December of this year, according to Otakukart. But the year is almost done, and there are still no updates regarding when the third installment will be released.

"Tokyo Ghoul" is a Japanese Manga series created by Sui Ishida that was picked up by Studio Pierrot for its animation.

But according to Game N Guide, Madhouse has replaced Studio Perriot in its animation. The third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" was reported to have a darker plot as compared to the previous seasons, which may have been a result of the change in animation houses. This may have also caused the delay for the release of the series' third season.

Another rumored reason for the delay is that creator Ishida has been focusing on "Hunter X Hunter."

Meanwhile, rumors and updates have been spread all over the Manga community about what to expect from "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3.

News Everyday reports that a new character will be introduced in the upcoming season. The new character is a ghoul investigator with black and white hair named Haise Sasaki. Sasaki is said to be a member of the "Quinx Squad," which is known to be a special group of CCG investigators.

Sasaki will look a lot like Kaneki Ken because he is actually Kaneki himself. Based on the Manga series, Kaneki did not die when he was beaten to death by Arima. Instead, Arima brought him to the Commission of Counter Ghoul where he was given a new name, Haise Sasaki.

Aside from this surprise twist, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is anticipated to be focused on Touka and her journey in choosing a degree and deciding which university to go to.

"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is expected to debut in 2017.
