'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 air date, rumors, spoilers: Upcoming season to follow manga storyline; Season 3 premiere coming very soon
Over the past several months, there have been talks regarding the possible direction that the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" would take upon its return. The hit anime series aired the finale episode of its second season last year, and there are speculations that unlike the previous chapter, Season 3 will closely follow the storyline of the original "Tokyo Ghoul" manga version.
If "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 will indeed follow the contents of its manga series counterpart as exactly as possible, then it might turn out to be the most intense and perhaps the bloodiest chapter of the anime series. According to Yibada, the remaining chapters of the manga that the anime series has yet to cover are said to be one of the darkest one yet from "Tokyo Ghoul"
Moreover, it appears that Studio Pierrot, the company behind the successful anime series, has no other choice but to heed the request of the show's long-time viewers. As the series' fans have also been following the storyline of the manga version, they could not help but notice how the second season deviated so much from the original contents of the manga. This caused some of the viewers to express their discontentment regarding the outcome of Season 2, hoping that the upcoming season will not repeat the same mistakes of its predecessor.
There is still a possibility, after all, that the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" might not stick to the original manga storyline. It is likely that the creator of the anime series will introduce an all-new storyline to the show that was never tackled in the manga. Game N Guide reported that Sui Ishida, the creator of "Tokyo Ghoul" anime series, has prepared a brand new storyline for the show. Still, that information is not yet confirmed and the future of the series will all depend on the decision of both Ishida and Studio Pierrot.
In "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3, one of the lead characters of the series, Touka Kirishima, will be exploring a new chapter of her life in the world of humans. She is expected to enter college, but it will also bear more challenge as she has to adapt to the ways of the humans. Also, Touka has to deal with her negative feelings towards Ken Kaneki. On the other hand, there is a possibility that Ken will assume a new identity as he will have no memories of who he is. The latter scenario may happen especially if the third season will actually stick to the events in the manga version.
As of now, there is still no official word from Studio Pierrot regarding the premiere date of "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3. However, the rumors are rife that the third season will be released sooner than expected as the production team has already started filming the new chapter.
