Tom Clancy's The Division Release Date: Game Coming With 'Rainbow Six Siege', 'Assassin's Creed Victory' on Oct. 16
The two massively multiplayer online, or MMO, game franchises of Tom Clancy – "The Division" and "Rainbow Six Siege" – are up for release at the same time, along with "Assassin's Creed Victory," on Oct. 16.
Ubisoft reconfirmed this as early as February this year, saying that the three games will indeed be released at the same time.
For "Tom Clancy's The Division," details about the Dark Zones, The Cleaners Faction and Pre-Alpha leaks have been released.
The Dark Zones are the game's PvP area which allows player to engage in head-to-head combat with other players. Battling in the Dark Zones raises risks of losing items when the player is killed. Items are lost when the player is killed before Extraction is complete. The Dark Zones will be separate from The Division's main campaign.
A faction in the game, The Cleaners, was also revealed by Ubisoft. They are covered in fireproof suits from head to toe and armed with flame-throwers. They roam the map with the objective of controlling and eliminating the virus. They have the tendency to burn anything that moves, including survivors.
Ubisoft also responded to criticisms received on leaked footages showing non-polished graphics, saying these are from the pre-alpha tests developed to evaluated server infrastructure. "A large portion of the game features have been removed in this build and therefore is not representative of the game's current quality," a Ubisoft spokesperson said.
On "Rainbow Six Siege," Ubisoft posted about its upcoming Closed Alpha beginning on the PC this April 7 at 10:00a.m. Eastern and ending on April 13 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. The developer wants to improve the game based on critical feedback, specifically on the following three areas:
Test the core gameplay loops – Siege has reached the point in development where the developer needs the players' creativity to test the game and validate the experience they've been building. It's still early enough that a lot can change.
Test the server infrastructure – Strong online connection and matchmaking is crucial for operating a game as a service. Testing the infrastructure early will help the developers optimize gamers' experience at launch.
General feedback – The developers have been working on this game for a long time, and having fresh pairs of eyes reviewing the experience helps them figure out any problem areas they might have missed.
