The war against the Transformers will be waged, and a specialized team has been created to hunt Decepticons and Autobots down. Meanwhile, fans might have to say goodbye to one of their favorite Autobots.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will follow the events that took place in "Transformers: Age of Extinction" where all Transformers have been branded as public enemies. There are no official announcements yet about the film's plot, but according to Slashfilm, "The Last Knight" will possibly feature a war against all Transformers where a special military team will be hunting them down.

The team is called Transformers Reaction Force (TRF), which was formed to eliminate all Transformers whether they're Autobots or Decepticons. A newcomer to the franchise, Santiago Cabrera, will play as the head of this team.

Cabrera shared that his character's backstory involves being a retired SEAL and that he is just following orders of leading a team to fight Transformers. It was revealed that the TRF will also be hunting down Cade Yaeger (Mark Wahlberg) after finding out that Yaeger has been helping in hiding the Autobots in his junkyard.

It seems that Josh Duhamel's Colonel Lennox is a member of the Transformers Reaction Force. Duhamel shared a little background about his character's role in "The Last Knight."

"Am I with the US military, the Army, or am I working with a group that's trying to eradicate all Transformers? Not just Decepticons, but all of them. There's a bit of a struggle between myself and Santiago Cabrera, and then we're also working against Wahlberg's character in this. Because he's definitely working with the Autobots," Duhamel explained.

Meanwhile, previously released movie posters for "Transformers: The Last Knight" hints that one of the pivotal Autobots will die in the film.

According to A.V. Club, Optimus Prime died in the original "Transformers" movie that was released way back in 1986. Fans of the franchise, especially the kids, were deeply affected by the Autobot's death that he was brought back to life in the cartoon series that followed the film.

Looking at "The Last Knight" poster, it looks as if Bumblebee will be the one dying by the hand of Optimus Prime. It is possible that director Michael Bay is going in this direction, although there might not be a chance where Bumblebee comes back to life.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" premieres on June 23, 2017.
