US presidential polls news update: Trump two points ahead of Clinton, poll says
The race for the Presidential Election proves to be a close one as Republican candidate Donald Trump is said to be two points ahead of Democrat Hillary Clinton.
The results come from Investor's Business Daily, and the polls say that Trump has a current 2-point lead on Clinton. The predictions suggest that Trump has a 42.1 percent chance of securing a vote while Clinton has a 40.8 percent chance.
Other candidates for the election like Gary Johnson scored 7 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein has 3 percent.
The polls say that Trump has found voters in men, people with lower income, rural voters, and voters who identify themselves as religious.
Hillary, on the other hand, has beaten Trump when it comes to the votes of women, the wealthy elite, investors, and voters aged 18-44 years-old.
According to Independent, Investor's Business Daily was able to successfully predict the winner of the past three presidential elections of the United States; this however, doesn't mean that Trump is already a sure win. With the numbers that close, it's quite possible that the figures change come election day.
Most of the other polls have been putting Clinton at a substantial lead, and some believe that the results of the IBD poll may be an outlier.
Other reports are also saying that though Trump may be gaining some ground as of now, Clinton is still most likely to win the Electoral College with 347 electoral votes compared to Trump who has 191. 270 is the required number of votes to win the presidency.
Only time will really tell which candidate comes out on top, and the numbers can be expected to change as D-Day draws nearer.
The United States Presidential Election takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
