Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2016 news: Models jet off to Paris ahead of Fashion Show
The Victoria's Secret Angels jetted off en masse to Paris on Sunday, Nov. 27, for the filming of this year's highly anticipated Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
The models, dressed in identical pink T-shirts and skinny jeans, posed for cameras on the tarmac in New York before boarding their flight to the City of Lights. Victoria's Secret cameras were on hand to document the trip. The lingerie brand later posted a video on Instagram with the caption "'Bonjour, Paris! The Angels have landed." The post also confirmed that the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2016 will be filmed on Wednesday, Nov. 30, several days before it airs on Monday, Dec. 5.
In the video clip, the models cheer, dance, blow kisses and express their excitement over the fast approaching show. Lily Donaldson, Joan Smalls, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner goof around on the tarmac and wave to the camera. Onboard the plane, Victoria's Secret veterans Alessandra Ambrosio and Lily Aldridge are seen sitting up front beside Martha Hunt, who will be walking the runway for the third time.
This is the first time that the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which was first staged in 1995, will be held in Paris. The eagerly awaited lingerie fashion event will be taped at the historic Grand Palais.
According to Daily Mail, the models were seen arriving in Paris on Sunday night. The outlet notes that this is Jenner's first time back in Paris since her sister, Kim Kardashian-West, fell victim to a jewelry heist in the city in October.
The models were taken by coach to the Mandarin Oriental Palace hotel, where they caught some sleep before a photocall the following day. On Monday, the models appeared in matching black bomber jackets, Victoria's Secret tank tops, and white trousers at the Grand Palais.
Gigi Hadid, Bella's older sister, was not on the Victoria's Secret jet with the rest of the girls. The model, who walked the show for the first time in 2015, was already in Paris, having arrived solo on Sunday.
Meanwhile, two veteran Angels had to sit out this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
Behati Prinsloo, who gave birth to her and husband Adam Levine's first child two months ago, reportedly chose to stay home with her little one instead of joining the show this year. "Opening the #vsfashionshow for the first time was a dream come true opening twice in a row was just NUTS, still pinching myself," she captioned a throwback photo on Instagram. "To the girls and crew, good luck in Paris, me and Dusty Rose will be cheering," she said.
Candice Swanepoel, another veteran Angel, gave birth to son Anaca in October. "Goodluck in [P]aris beautiful ladies!" she wrote on Instagram. "So sad to be missing this show! No doubt it will be magical So hard for me to disappoint the people that always root for me, I wish I was there making you all proud," she added.
