Vikings Season 3 Spoilers, Plot News: King Ecbert and Lagertha in Hot Tub Talking About Paris
In a sneak peak of Episode 3 of "Vikings" this Thursday on the History channel, we see King Ecbert, Lagertha, Athelsan and Judith all in a Roman hot tub, drinking wine and talking about Paris.
The glances they exchange seem to promise more complicated scenes ahead. It is expected that Paris will be a place the Vikings will be going to this season in the hopes of conquest.
"Vikings," now on its third season, seems to enjoy being one of TV's best kept secrets. It is an Irish-Canadian history drama television series written and created by Michael Hirst for the television channel History.
It premiered on March 3, 2013 in the U.S. and Canada. The series is inspired by the tales of raiding, trading and exploring Norsemen of early medieval Scandinavia, and follows the exploits of the legendary Viking chieftain Ragnar Lothbrok and his crew and family.
The series continues to fly under the radar, and although sometimes it is called a "Game of Thrones" wannabe, and even termed as "Sons of Anarchy at Sea," the show knows what it is and is comfortable in its own skin.
Season 3 kicked off last Feb. 19 with the episode titled "Mercenary." A short time had passed, as King Ragnar, along with Lagertha were planning to return to Wessex in order to obtain the land King Ecbert promised. Upon returning to Wessex, Ragnar was coerced into a new deal with King Ecbert to lend more support to the bid of Princess Cwenthryth to rule over the kingdom of Mercia. Although uneasy about the deal, Ragnar and Lagertha agreed to help. As Ragnar's forces were drawn into battle, Lagertha and Athelstan remained behind to oversee the farming lands promised by King Ecbert. Lagertha received romantic attentions from Ecbert and Athelstan also was approached by Judith, daughter of King Aelle of Northrumbia, who was married to Ecbert's son.
