"Wayward Pines" season 2 is starting to pick up in terms of plot, and fans are treated to thrilling edge-of-the-seat episodes every Wednesday. Episode 5 titled "Sound the Alarm," which is yet to air, promises to be in the same mold as the first four episodes of the current season.

June 15's "Exit Strategy" confirmed one thing from episode 3 – Ben really is dead. However, no lifeless body turned up this week, so it would be somewhat safe to say the buck stopped there.

Another big revelation was Adam Hassler's (Tim Griffin) return after 12 years with the Abbies. Apparently, his purpose for returning is to provide those inside the walls with vital information about the Abbies as well as how he was able to keep himself safe and alive for more than a decade.

Incidentally, Griffin talked to iDigitalTimes about his character's return to "Wayward Pines" season 2. He last appeared in episode 9 of the first season, around the time Theresa found a tape that revealed the truth about Wayward Pines.

"I m completely changed. I've gone mountain man like Leo DiCaprio in The Revenant. I haven't made contact with anyone in 12 years. It's a total mind trip," he said of his return.

Adam's revelation to Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) that the Abbies "are not our enemy, they are replacements" could play into the "many big twists" Griffin was referring to when asked what could be expected of the coming episodes.

A group was seen leaving the town before the episode ended, and while they seemed to be in danger, it looks like they are in a much better place than those inside the walls. If next week's episode title, "Sound the Alarm," is any indication, dangerous times could be on the horizon for those left behind.

"Wayward Pines" season 2 will be back on Wednesday, June 22 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox. The episode is expected to explore the origins of the aberrations or the Abbies that lurk at the other side of the fence. The history of the creepy town would likewise be explored.
